Mike: Hi David! I am indeed glad making this interview with you. Where and when were you born? How did start your adventure with music?
David:
I was born in Basel/Switzerland on 09.12.1968, actually
I started singing at the very early age of 3.
I founded my first group when I was a teenager at the age of 13 and my music
career carried on from there.
Mike: You founded such groups like E-rotic, Missing Hearts, Crescent and also have worked with Fancy, Chris Norman and a lot of different artists. For me the most important matter is your co-operation with Bad Boys Blue. When and where did you meet the guys and how did you start working with them?
David: We know each other since the mid eighties. We were at the same record company before I decided to start my own recording company.
Mike: You wrote and produced a lot of tracks for albums "Back" and "...continued", but as I know you have worked on them together with John O'Flynn, Felix Gauder, Domenico Labarile and Gary Jones. Can you tell me who are these people?
David: John O'Flynn is a lyricist, Felix Gauder and Domenico Labarile are arrangers and Gary Jones is an mixing engineer.
Mike: Is it true that a female voice on "From Heaven To Heartache", "Lady Of Hearts" and "A Kiss In The Night" belongs to Lyane Leigh? I have heard that she also sang some parts on Fancy's album "D.I.S.C.O.". By the way - I personally think it is the best album he has ever recorded.
David: Yes, it's true. In 1989 we were in the same group called “Xanadu”. Thank you for your compliment.
Mike: Why didn't you work with the boys on the albums: "Follow The Light" and "Tonite"?
David: I had some legal problems with Coconut and that's the reason why I did not involve myself on these productions.
Mike: Can you give me some details about the new BBB album? As I know you have already recorded 6 brandnew tracks: "Around The World", "Heaven Or Hell", "Babe", "I'm Living For Your Love", "I'm Your Lover" and "A Bridge Of Heartaches".
David: The songs are all written by myself and John O'Flynn except "A Bridge Of Heartaches" which was written by myself and John McInerney.
Mike: Is it sure that the first single will be "Around The World"? Are you planning to shot a video for this single?
David: 99,9% sure “Around The World” will be the first single from this album. We are not sure of the location of the video but in any case we are planning to do this.
Mike: Is it already known when the new single/album will be released?
David: We are still involved with tracking and mixing in the studio. Basically the new album is 80% finished. We still have a little bit more work to do on the longplay. Hopefully all being well, we can release within the next 8 weeks.
Mike: What label will release it?
David: Nothing is definite at the moment.
Mike: Would you like to tell a little bit about your personal life?
David: Yes, I'm married and have a cute little daughter (1995) and her name is Janine.
Mike: What would you like to say to all the BBB fans?
David: We hope that all the Bad Boys Blue fans gonna like the new album as much as we do. We are looking forward to hearing your response.
