Mike: Hello Lyane! Let's go back a little bit in time. When and where you were born?
Mike: How did you start your adventure with music? Do you have any musical education? Lyane: Started as a teenie, had some guitar lessons and started with singing along some country songs (Loretta Lynn, Linda Ronstadt, Olivia Newton-John and others). No other education. Many years later I had an education as multimedia producer. Mike: As I know you've been a lead singer of E-Rotic for many years. How did you start working with David Brandes and are you going to cooperate with Bros Music further? Lyane: I knew David from the group Xanadu in which we both were singing in
1989-1990. David contacted me some years later and we
recorded several songs for different projects including
E-Rotic. I have no contact anymore to David and I can
not imagine to work with him again in the future. I have
my own production company which I am running with my brother and his wife
and we started our own recordlabel on which I now release all my tracks
and also some new artists. I just released my german pop ballad "Jeder Neue
Morgen" and the album will follow in spring. Also a new S.E.X. Appeal Maxi and
album will be released this year. Lyane: I met them in 1987, we were at the same record company Coconut Records. I was there as a leadsinger of the girlieband "Twenty-One" which was my first release as a singer. Karin (owner of Coconut Records) asked me if I would like to do some female vocals when they were looking for a voice to "Come Back And Stay". I did also some tv-shows with the guys. Mike: Was it nice to work with them? Would you like to work with the guys in the future? Lyane: I never had any problems with the guys. They were always nice to me. Only bad thing was that they are almost too late every times. Could happen that I had to wait for them at a tv-show for several hours ;-) Why not working with them again. Mike: Did it take much time to record your parts for a hit "Come Back And Stay"? Lyane: No, I never need much time to record a track :-) As I can remember maybe 2 hours or so. Mike: Can you remember and mention all the tracks which you sang with the boys? Lyane: Oh no, there were several on their later albums produced by David Brandes, but I can't remember the name of the tracks anymore. I think you know better ;-) Mike: Is it true that some female parts on Fancy's album "D.I.S.C.O" also belong to you? Lyane: Yes, that is true but I did a just one song for him, again produced by David Brandes. Mike: Which artists did you deal with, what do you consider to be your greatest musical success? Lyane: My biggest success was indeed E-Rotic, after that Bad Boys Blue, Fancy and Xanadu. Beside that my own project S.E.X. Appeal which reached the austrian top twenty. I did many more projects from different producers which I can't remember all, cause they never reached much success. Mike: As I know you spend a lot of time working at your personal studio. What are you working on now? Lyane: As I mentioned before I still work on my german soloalbum "Komm Her Zu Mir" which will be released in spring and the new S.E.X. Appeal maxi and album. Also we produce some newcomers this year which I can not already talk about, since we are in early production-stadium yet. Mike: Would you like to tell a little bit about your personal life? Lyane: I live in Germany again since last year's August. We have a huge farmerhouse (incl. studio) with several apartments. I live here together with next door to my parents, my brother and his wife. When I am not here I am at my friend's place who lives about 25 km away from me. So I travel a lot. I listen to all kinds of music, also chartbreakers popmusic with nice voices and lyrics. Artists: Olivia Newton-John, George Michael, Anastacia, Dido and so on... Mike: Do you have any other hobby besides making music? Lyane: No time, oh my friend David (not David Brandes!) and my cat "Casperly". Mike: Would you like to say something to your and all the Bad Boys Blue fans? Lyane: I thank all my fans for standing beside me still, and I like to say a big "hello" to all the Bad Boys Blue fans. Mike: Thank you for giving this interview! Lyane: You're welcome.
